Holiday is the best time to cook and make whatever you want. Most foods are requested by Narto, my family and of course myself. hehehe..

pepes ikan. i used tilapia fillet to make the pepes. if you don’t have banana leaf, you can use aluminum foil to wrap it up, just like i did.
i don’t know what this is really called. tahu tek tek? that’s what my sister said. I don’t really know how this food should really look like, since i’m not from Java. I just heard the recipe from my aunt who lives in east Java, and i believe this is a traditional food in that place and my sister loves it. O, i like it too.
korean style spicy soup. I made up the recipe, and use ribs instead of just the meat. It’s really good. Narto was craving to eat this since we’ve tried this kind of food once in Toronto.

and ooops… there you goo.. this is his 2nd round eating this soup.
créme caramel. requested by Narto. Its one of his favorite, and my sister fave too. if you don’t like creamy and sweet stuff (like me), maybe you won’t like this.

Nastar. I made it today, right away after i woke up and ate my breakfast. Took me three hours to make this… and it only took them few minutes to finish half of them while we’re playing monopoly.
So, after making nastar… I asked Neo what he wanted to eat for dinner.
Me: To, malem mau makan apa?
Narto: hmm… apa ya? hmm.. tomyum soup..
Me: ok, tp kita ga punya sereh, daun bau (read: cilantro), ama nanas. ke loblaws yuk..
(so.. we went to loblaws and did a little groceries shopping).. and this time.. the tomyum tastes better. I put more shallots and lemongrass for stronger flavour.
